When the profile popup is opened inside the contacts list, it doesn't have
a surrounding window context (`Popup` types should usually be used within `ApplicationWindow`
or `Window` components as per https://doc.qt.io/qt-5/qml-qtquick-controls2-popup.html).
This is problematic when popup are nested, like it's the case with the
nickname popup that will be instantiated by the profile popup.
With no window context, such nested popup can't be opened by the application.
This commit ensures the profile popup is created with a proper context,
fixing the issue that the nickname popup won't open when visting via
contacts list.
Fixes#2216
There are some inconcistencies in the application when it comes to
button UI elements because we're using `StatusButton` in some places,
in other we use `StyledButton`. The latter is the original
component we've created when we started out building Status
Desktop, but is planned to be removed entirely in favour of
`StatusButton`.
This commit replaces the usages of `StyledButton` with `StatusButton`
There's a but in the app's profile section where the link to
invite friends is never rendered, even if the currently logged-in
user has no added contacts.
This is because the UI refers to the count of *all* contacts the
user has (even removed ones - remember that, once added, removing
a contact is only done by removing a tag).
This commit ensures that the invitation link is rendered by
relying on the *added* contacts list. It also prevents the
"blocked contacts" button from rendered when there's no blocked
contacts.
Adding a contact through the Add Contact Modal isn't working because the
function being called to add a contact doesn't actually exist.
This was most likely a mistake as the change was just to call that function
in question from a different property.
This commit does exactly that.
Fixes#1660
The contact list was taking the entire width of its surrounding element,
making it grow too wide to be usable (see #1589).
In fact, it's not following the designs made for this part of the application,
so this commit changes the max layout width to align with the intended
design and should also fix some of the usability issues mentioned in #1589Fixes#1589
The "more actions" button in the contacts list had some hard coded colors
for its hover effect which break the experience in dark mode.
This commit makes changes those so that they work universally.

Fixes#1479.
Two sites have been added to the whitelist: giphy.com and tenor.com.
`imageUrls` in its entirety has been removed and instead all links are being handle through the message `linkUrls`. This prevents double-handling of urls that may or may not be images.
The logic to automatically show links previews works like this:
1. If the setting "display chat images" is enabled, all links that *contain* ".png", ".jpg", ".jpeg", ".svg", ".gif" will be automatically shown. If the URL doesn't contain the extension, we are not downloading it. This was meant to be somewhat of a security compromise as we do not want to download each and every link posted in a message just to find out its true content type.
2. If the above setting is *disabled*, then we follow the whitelist settings for tenor and giphy. This allows us to preview gifs that do not have a file extension in their url.
feat: bump status-go to the commit that supports the new whitelist (https://github.com/status-im/status-go/pull/2094), and also lets us get link preview data from urls in the whitelist. NOTE: this commit was branched off status-go `develop`, so once it is merged, and we update this PR to the new commit, we will effectively be getting status-go develop changes. We *could* base that status-go PR off of master if it makes things easier.
fix: height on settings update issue
feat: move date/time of message below links
fix: layout issues when changing setting `neverAskAboutUnfurlingAgain`
feat: Add MessageBorder component to aid in showing rounded corners with different radius
In timeline status update messages we want to render the ENS name next to a
local nickname in case it exists. This commit extends the `UsernameLabel` to do
just that.
Closes#1488
The transaction component's `reset` functionality was meant ot reset a form when the modal was closed. It was difficult to manage and added extra overhead for each additional transaction modal created.
Instead of using reset functions, we can use Loaders to load and destroy the modal's as they are opened and closed. We do not need to keep them in memory and then also reset their functions. It creates a smaller memory footprint to destroy the object and reload on open.
feat: load gas prediction prices asynchronously
I noticed that the 1:1 chat commands were not able to send token transactions due to "intrinsic gas too low" error. I quickly realised there there were a few components missing, which have been fixed.
*feat: update the 1:1 chat commands transaction modal to allow editing of the from account and network fee*
The TransactionStackGroup was updated slightly to allow manual control of back/next actions.
Fixes#870.
*fix: Create distinct modal transaction actions*
Previously, adding `Connection`s for the `walletModel.transactionWasSent` signal in different dialogs would cause the signal to be handled in the wrong dialog. The solution was to pass a `uuid` from the requesting dialog, and include the `uuid` in the response, so that only requests that were requested from the dialog would be handled.
*fix: update 1:1 translations*
All the translations were not being translated for me. I noticed that they did not exist in the `.ts` translation files either.
Supports system dark mode. Changes the user appearance setting to a 3-way setting of System, Light, Dark.
New accounts will have their appearance setting set to "System", which uses the system setting to determine if dark mode should be applied.
Breaking change: Users who had their settings on Light Theme, will now get the system theme (light or dark). Users who had their theme set to Dark, will now get the Light theme.
At startup, the onboarding screens will have the system-level setting of dark mode applied or not. Once, logged in, the user settings will be applied.
## Note
An appearance setting of "System" is not dynamic to the system-level setting. This means that if a user has "System" set for their appearance (and ie, the user has light mode set), and then user then changes their system setting from light to dark, the app will not respond until it is restarted. This is due to a limitation of Qt not having a reliable way to propagate these changes to QML.
This component introduces `StatusLetterIdenticon`, `StatusImageIdenticon`
and `StatusIdenticon`.
- `StatusLetterIdenticon` renders an identicon with a single letter based on a
name.
- `StatusImageIdenticon` renders an actual image based on an identicon URL
- `StatusIdenticon` is a composition of the former both, but with a loading mechanism
to decide which should be rendered
The commit also ensures all of these components are used respectively throughout
the application.
Currently, exceptions thrown during transactions or gas estimation that were spawned in another thread are not being propagated, due to a limitation in nim (see https://nim-lang.org/docs/manual_experimental.html#parallel-amp-spawn).
This means any exceptions from status-go were not propagated correctly and would cause the app to crash. This includes entering the wrong password when trying to send a transaction.
The issue was addressed by passing a `success` variable by reference, which is set to false if an exception was thrown by status-go.
Necessary cases are:
- Onboarding to show the list of 5 accounts
- In QML when we show it to the user for the backup
- Change it to a Loader, so the component and its memory is cleaned when closed
- Show welcome page only when there are no ens names registered
- If you already have an ens username for the current account, connect and mark it as preferred name
- State machine navigation
Fixes#670.
Component spec based on https://www.notion.so/emizzle/Wallet-transaction-components-2003b78a8d0d41c4ab3d21eb2496fb20.
Changes the current Select shared component to a model databound component. This means we can bind directly to `QAbstractListModel`'s coming from Nim instead of needing manipulating the data in to javascript objects. The changes to the Select component will be used for the upcoming Asset selector shared component.
This introduces the ability to:
- list search existing contacts
- block contacts
- unblock contacts
- list blocked contacts
- remove contacts
- search and add contacts
Closes#608
Allow switching to Ropsten by flipping a toggle switch in Profile > Advanced settings.
When switching networks, note that installed stickers will be uninstalled, and recent stickers will be removed. Sticker packs can be reinstalled after login. Purchased sticker packs will not need to be re-purchased, but will need to be re-installed.
Mailserver fleet information will **not** be updated. This can be controlled by a separate (undeveloped yet) setting.
Add sticker popup
Add send sticker message
Add ability to select sticker pack and show stickers for pack with scroll
1. Sticker history
2. Install sticker packs
3. Sticker market
1. Sticker packs are installed on app start up until installation of sticker pack functionality is added
2. Optimisations such as preloading images to be done so that sticker images are not downloaded each time.

Move the onboarding/login state machine to the top level in main.qml, so that logout events can trigger new states.
Add Loader to statemachine so that each component is lazy-loaded. Initial tests saved 50MB of memory on startup.
Currently, logging out, then logging back in to the same or different account results in a doubling-up of chats/messages/wallet accounts. These need to be reset, however I need help doing that and it would delayed and blown out this PR further. This reset has been done for Onboarding and Login, but needs to be done for chats, wallet, mailservers, etc.

Work on this PR started before the build system was updated and at one point I
upgraded `nim_status_client.nimble` to use NimScript so the nimble command
would stop warning that the old format was being used. In team chat it was
discussed that since we're no longer using nimble for package management we
could simply delete `nim_status_client.nimble` to avoid confusion, which can be
done in another PR.
Introduce a BrowserLayout stub so the index will be calcualted correctly re:
the active tab.
Reorganize ChatLayout and NodeLayout into subdirs `Chat` and `Node`,
respectively.
Introduce ProfileLayout which uses a "LeftTab" approach similar to that of
WalletLayout. There remains quite a bit of styling work to be done in
ProfileLayout and its LeftTab. Also, it may be better to start over using a
SplitView like the ChatLayout, I'm not really sure.
It wasn't clear what should be the default view for the right-pane when Profile
is selected in the left-most TabBar. In this PR, it defaults to showing the
view corresponding to the ENS usernames button.
In the archived Figma for the desktop design, it seemed a picture could be set,
e.g. there is a headshot of a woman used in the Profile screen. To that end I
explored how to take a square image and clip/mask it so it appears round and I
included a larger placeholder image for that purpose. In the new design, and
with respect to mobile, it may not be possible to set a profile picture so the
code that rounds the image can maybe be dropped.
