Summary:
**motivation**
Currently when using a non-touchable visible row for a SwipeableRow, the scroll on list view is blocked.

**Test Plan**
```
<SwipeableListView
   dataSource={dataSource}
   renderRow={() => <View style={styles.row}/>}
   renderQuickActions={() => <View style={styles.hiddenrow}/>}
/>
```

* Tested that when using non-touchable for renderRow allows scrolling on list view.

Summary:
Explain the **motivation** for making this change. What existing problem does the pull request solve?

1. [`SwipeableListView`](https://github.com/facebook/react-native/blob/master/Libraries/Experimental/SwipeableRow/SwipeableListView.js) is already usable, I think it would be great to export it so users can test it.

David Aurelio 2426b3b5ec Prevent tests with invalid UTF-8 from failing when jest reads them from the cache
Summary: The utf-8 test was failing when run from Jest’s cache, because it contained unicode escape sequences for stray high and low surrogates. Somewhere in the process of transpiling, caching on disk, and reading from the cache, those stray surrogates are changed to U+FFFD (REPLACEMENT CHARACTER / ). This diffs changes the method of creating these strings from literals to `String.fromCharCode`, which survives the process as intended.

Janic Duplessis 2537157d99 Implement TextInput onContentSizeChange
Summary:
This adds proper support for tracking a TextInput content size as discussed in #6552 by adding a new callback that is called every time the content size changes including when first rendering the view.

Some points that are up for discussion are what do we want to do with the onChange callback as I don't see any use left for it now that we can track text change in onChangeText and size changes in onContentSizeChange. Also a bit off topic but should we consider renaming onChangeText to onTextChange to keep the naming more consistent (see [this naming justification](https://twitter.com/notbrent/status/709445076850597888)).

This is split in 2 commits for easier review, one for iOS and one for android.

The iOS implementation simply checks if the content size has changed everytime we update it and fire the callback, the only small issue was that the content size had several different values on initial render so I added a check to not fire events before the layoutSubviews where at this point the value is g

Summary:
* Next version of Jest doesn't allow non test files in __tests__ folders.
* I'm trying to switch all tests off of jsdom on react-native. This should save 500ms of time when running a single test because jsdom is slow to load and react-native is also not supposed to run in a DOM environment, so let's not pretend we are providing the DOM in tests.
* Make the bridge config configurable so that when we disable automocking and we reset the registry we can redefine the value.

Oh also, stop using lodash in Server.js. First off, lodash 3 doesn't work in Jest's node env because it does some crazy stuff, second because we don't need to load all of lodash for debounce.

**Test plan**

On my iPhone 6, which has `RCTScreenScale() === 2`, see that an `<Image>` rendered with a `ph://XXX` URI is rendered properly in 2x.

More thoroughly, I used `PHAsset.fetchAssetsWithMediaType(.Image, options: fetchOptions)` to fetch PHAssets to get a `asset.localIdentifier` to test. Then, I rendered a `<Image source={{uri: `ph://${localIdentifier}`}} style={{width: 375, height: 375}} />`.

Jean Regisser 7f9ec4e4c8 Fixed incorrect style props passed to Android Image when using children
Summary:
Hi there,

Here is a fix for #7538 (and #5085).

I had originally discovered this issue when using `resizeMode` through the style props. Although this might arguably be an incorrect usage (see https://github.com/facebook/react-native/issues/4759#issuecomment-164301166) the same issue would happen with the `tintColor` and `overlayColor` style props.

To test this, you can render the following:

```jsx
const imageContainerStyle = {width: 100, height: 100, backgroundColor: 'green', marginLeft: 10, marginTop: 10, };
const imageStyle = {flex: 1, width: undefined, height: undefined, resizeMode: 'contain', };
return (
  <View style={styles.container}>
    <View style={imageContainerStyle}>
      <Image style={imageStyle} source={
        {uri:'http://resizing.flixster.com/DeLpPTAwX3O2LszOpeaMHjbzuAw=/53x77/dkpu1ddg7pbsk.cloudfront.net/movie/11/16/47/11164719_ori.jpg'}
      }>
      </Image>
    </View>
Mike Lambert 6cd712713b Support selectable={true} property on Text fields on Android.
Summary:
Explain the **motivation** for making this change. What existing problem does the pull request solve?
This adds support for a text field that the user can click-and-drag to select text (which can then be copied using the native selected-text-hover-widget).
I'd love to add this to iOS too, but iOS appears to draw glyphs directly to the screen for its <Text> widget (versus using UITextField), so it might be too difficult to support there. But at least I can support my Android users with this change.
Let me know if/what kind of "demonstrate the code is solid" you would like for this. A screenshot of selected text with this property set?
Fred Liu b3886652ab Fix navigation jump on multi-tap
Summary:
On iOS, if a non-selected breadcrumb is tapped multiple times, the navigator will transition to the tapped breadcrumb, then back to the previously selected breadcrumb. Then, when another breadcrumb is tapped, it would go to the previously multi-tapped breadcrumb.
This seems to be because transitions are queued when they shouldn't be. I've reverted to the way it was before PR 8701, but added a `transitionQueue.length === 0`. This should solve the race condition from 8701, ensuring all transitions in the queue are flushed in sequence, and thus landing on the finally tapped one.
Janic Duplessis 4c83237511 Add Image resizeMode repeat on iOS
Summary:
This adds a new resize mode for iOS 'repeat' that tiles the image over it's frame. This allow to easily create a view with a repeating background pattern which there is no way to do at the moment without including a bunch of different sized assets.
I'm not 100% sure it should be a resizeMode or a separate prop but I went with resizeMode since it made more sense to me and the are not really any use cases where we'd want to use this with another resizeMode other than 'stretch'.
**Test plan**
Tested mainly by adding a UIExplorer example, also tested that changing the resizeMode prop from and to 'repeat' worked properly.
I'd like to implement this on Android too but it is a bit trickier since Fresco's ImageView doesn't support image tiling and would require submitting a PR there too :(
Christine Abernathy 22f59a88a6 Improve autogen for reference docs including jsdoc support
Summary:
As part of improving the API and Component reference docs #8154 this pull request adds the following:
- jsdoc support for API docs. See the AlertIOS changes as an example.
- type definitions support and added to both API and Component docs. This is supported via react-docgen and jsdoc.
- better formatting of method properties (now shown in a table).
FYI, API and Component docs were previously generated in two different ways. Components were using react-docgen and that basically remains as-is. APIs were using custom parsing code and that's been switched to use a jsdoc parser + react-docgen as an option for typedefs (it could also use the jsdoc parser).
Two docs have been updated to showcase how we'd like the new docs to look:
- AlertIOS (API): showing method parameters, examples, typedefs, more details overall.
- Statusbar (Component): showing method parameters, typedefs, more details overall.
**Note**: To convert new API docs to use the new format, add `jsdoc` to the initial file comment. C
Our guess is that at some point, the CGContextRef is autoreleased. We tried retaining the ref first, but eventually settled for pushing/popping the context as it never fails in our tests (retaining still causes seemingly unrelated failures).
Satyajit Sahoo 803cb61346 Show better error message when accessing React APIs on React Native
Summary:
**Motivation:**
Lots of examples on the web still have the old way to import React APIs from React Native. Also when someone upgrades to latest version of React Native without reading the release notes can get confused. This PR adds getters for  `createClass` and `Component` and throws an error with a better error message when they are accessed.
**Test plan:**
Trying to use `ReactNative.createClass` or `ReactNative.Component` will throw an error with this error message.
There's currently a bug in `symbolicateStackTrace` which actually crashes the app after showing the error due to the `stack` being null when updating the stack trace. But that's a separate issue which should be fixed separately. For now, to prevent the crash, we need to add the following before the return statement here - https://github.com/facebook/react-native/blob/master/Libraries/JavaScriptAppEn
Andrei Coman 617a38d984 Support multi sources for images
Summary:
This adds support for specifying multiple sources for an image component, so that native can choose the best one based on the flexbox-computed size of the image.
The API is as follows: the image component receives in the `source` prop an array of objects of the type `{uri, width, height}`. On the native side, the native component will wait for the layout pass to receive the width and height of the image, and then parse the array to find the best fitting one. For now, this does not support local resources, but it will be added soon.
To see how this works and play with it, there's an example called `MultipleSourcesExample` under `ImageExample` In UIExplorer.
The MapView component is not labelled as iOS-only, but it is. It took me a bit of digging to figure out that the Android source code hasn't been released. Found it in this [SO answer](http://stackoverflow.com/questions/32625259/no-view-manager-defined-for-class-rctmap) in the end, and it is documented [here](http://facebook.github.io/react-native/docs/known-issues.html#views), but it'd be nice if it said that directly in the MapView docs. (The mention of the Android-specific prop `active` put me off the trail for a bit.)
Kyle Corbitt 57d45235ec Correctly passes localNotification to app on wakeup
Summary:
Currently if an RN app is started in response to a remote notification, that notification's data is available on startup via `PushNotificationIOS.popInitialNotification()`. However, if the app is started in response to a "local" notification, that information is never passed in. This PR modifies the `popInitialNotification` behavior so it will return the notification used to launch the app, no matter if it was local or remote.
I've tested this change in my app and ensured that when the app is woken up with a `localNotification` it's passed in to `PushNotificationIOS.popInitialNotification`. I've also tested that the `localNotification` event continues working as before.
Hedger Wang fb0007d853 Remove prop `onNavigate`.
Summary:
Remove prop `onNavigate` from these views.
- NavigationAnimatedView
- NavigationCardStack
- NavigationCard
Also, the `sceneProps` onject that is passed to the `renderScene` function
no longer contains `onNavigate`.
The contract that `onNavigate` expects has been vague. Different data flow
system may expect complete different params for such function
For instance,
  * onNavigate({type: 'back'});
  * onNavigate({type: 'BACK'});
  * onNavigate('back'});
We have no intention to unify such generic API since it's more likely to be
constrained by the data flow frameworks such as redux or flux.
Also, passing the prop `onNavigate` all the way down to the component that
invokes the navigation action can be really tedious. We'd expect developer
to either pass such callback (onNavigate) via context or just set up some
kind of static actions that any component can call directly.
`onNavigate` was previously added as a part of (redux-like) reducers-friendly
feature but that's no longer the case.
This new prop `onNavigateBack` is used to explicitly handle the case when the back button or back gesture
is performed.
Nick Lockwood 235749ba19 Fix missing images
Summary:
Under rare and as-yet-to-be determined circumstances, images can sometimes fail to load/download and get "stuck", without producing an error.
Because the `RCTNetworkTask` for these images is stuck in the "in progress" state, they clog up the RCTImageLoader task queue, which has a limit of 4 concurrent in-progress tasks.
This was previously masked by the fact that we automatically cancelled image requests when the RCTImageView moved offscreen, but we no longer do that.
This diff adds logic to detect some types of stuck task and remove them, thereby unblocking the queue. I've also restored the functionality of cancelling downloads for offscreen images (but not unloading the image itself) so that stuck images will be cancelled when you move to another screen, instead of using up space in the queue forever.
Summary:
For navigation actions at high level, reducers from NavigationReducers does not
know anything about the app-specific state thus people won't use these reducers.
Instead, people should build their own reducers.
There are a lot of good libraries available that help people to reducing things if that's
what they really need.
At the low level, for navigation state changes that don't involve app-specific state,
`NavigationStateUtils` should server that kind of need.
`NavigationReducers` serves little benefit cause it does not know the app state, it does
not know how to traverse the navigation states which can be a tree, a list or a map.
That said, we hold no interest in owning in the core navigation library.
Nick Lockwood d64368b9e2 Implement CSS z-index for iOS
Summary:
This diff implement the CSS z-index for React Native iOS views. We've had numerous pull request for this feature, but they've all attempted to use the `layer.zPosition` property, which is problematic for two reasons:
1. zPosition only affects rendering order, not event processing order. Views with a higher zPosition will appear in front of others in the hierarchy, but won't be the first to receive touch events, and may be blocked by views that are visually behind them.
2. when using a perspective transform matrix, views with a nonzero zPosition will be rendered in a different position due to parallax, which probably isn't desirable.
See https://github.com/facebook/react-native/pull/7825 for further discussion of this problem.
So instead of using `layer.zPosition`, I've implemented this by actually adjusting the order of the subviews within their parent based on the zIndex. This can't be done on the JS side because it would affect layout, which is order-dependent, so I'm doing it inside the view itself.
It works as follows:
1. The `reactSubviews` array is set, whose order matches the order of the JS components and shadowView components, as specified by the UIManager.
2. `didUpdateReactSubviews` is called, which in turn calls `sortedSubviews` (which lazily generates a sorted array of  `reactSubviews` by zIndex) and inserts the result into the view.
3.  If a subview is added or removed, or the zIndex of any subview is changed, the previous `sortedSubviews` array is cleared and  `didUpdateReactSubviews` is called again.
To demonstrate it working, I've modified the UIExplorer example from https://github.com/facebook/react-native/pull/7825
Nick Lockwood 46c02b6ae5 Refactored subview management
Summary:
This diff refactors the view update process into two stages:
1. The `reactSubviews` array is set, whose order matches the order of the JS components and shadowView components, as specified by the UIManager.
2. The `didUpdateReactSubviews` method is called, which actually inserts the reactSubviews into the view hierarchy.
This simplifies a lot of the hacks we had for special-case treatment of subviews: In many cases we don't want to actually insert `reactSubviews` into the parentView, and we had a bunch of component-specific solutions for that (typically overriding all of the reactSubviews methods to store views in an array). Now, we can simply override the `didUpdateReactSubviews` method for those views to do nothing, or do something different.
Ben Nham 1fce89176b Explicitly set default background color in RCTTextView
Summary:
RCTShadowText currently explicitly defaults to black text color:
https://github.com/facebook/react-native/blob/d46ac11/Libraries/Text/RCTShadowText.m#L204
However, the UITextView used by RCTTextInput doesn't explicitly default to black text color.
This causes issues when RCTTextInput is in rich text editing mode (i.e. when the <TextInput> element uses child <Text> nodes to provide extra styling info) and the client doesn't provide us with any explicit color info. In this case, the following series of badness occurs:
1. -[UITextView attributedText] will return an attributed string without the NSColor property set.
2. -[RCTShadowText attributedString] will return an attributed string with NSColor equal to blackColor.
3. The `[_textView.attributedText isEqualToAttributedString:_pendingAttributedText]` check in -performPendingTextUpdate will fail and causes -[UITextView setText:] to be called.
4. -setText: clears the marked text range in the text view, which breaks multi-character autocomplete (e.g. QWERTY input methods for CJK languages).
The easiest fix for now is to just make sure RCTUITextView and RCTShadowText default to the same text color.
`applicationIconBadgeNumber`
`fireDate`
`soundName`
More could be added to this but I just matched what was available in the `Object` passed to `presentLocalNotification` and `scheduleLocalNotification`.
**Motivation**
I needed to determine the number and other details about local notifications that were already scheduled. There is an API for this in iOS but one hadn't been built yet for React Native.
I created the Obj-C method and updated the documentation in `PushNotificationIOS.js` as well.
**Usage:**
Jonathan Stanton f4dbf37ba8 PushNotificationIOS requestPermission promisified
Summary:
**Motivation**
Today it's hard to build a good flow around requesting permissions if we don't know when the user rejects the push notification permission.
With this PR I wrap `PushNotificationIOS#requestPermission` in a promise. The promise will return with the updated permissions when the user accepts, rejects or has previously rejected the permission.
An example flow of how an app should handle push notifications with the change proposed:
1) Show user an explanation of push notification permissions with a button to enable,
2) User presses the enable push notifications button,
3) If the user accepts -> take them into the app,
4) if the user rejects -> explain how to enable permission in the settings app.
5) My app will now store some state about how it has asked permissions for push notifications so that the next time the user is taken through this flow they will go straight to step 4.
Without this change we could listen to the `register` event that PushNotificationIOS fires on the success sc
Summary:
The TextInput when configured with `multiline=true` has a minor issue due to which if the initial text doesn't fit in one line, the input won't span multiple lines. The root cause of the problem is that the `onChange` event is not fired for the initial render. This issue has been reported on open-source: 481f560f64
This is an attempt to fix this problem by moving the logic to fire the event to the method that updates the content size. This way we can guarantee that anytime the content size changes we'll trigger the JS event.
The downside of this approach is that it's possible that multiple events get fired for a single character change. As per the comment that was removed, this was already happening when adding a character that when rendered, would increase the content size. By moving the code to the new place, this can happen more often (twice per character tapped). Let me know if you think this is an issue.
I don't know this code much, so please be careful reviewing. I'm happy to add more test cases I may have missed to the test plan :).
The root cause of the problem is that the `onChange` event is not fired for the initial render. This issue has been reported on open-source: 481f560f64
This is an attempt to fix this problem by moving the logic to fire the event to the method that updates the content size. This way we can guarantee that anytime the content size changes we'll trigger the JS event.
The downside of this approach is that it's possible that multiple events get fired for a single character change. As per the comment that was removed, this was already happening when adding a character that when rendered, would increase the content size. By moving the code to the new place, this can happen more often (twice per character tapped). Let me know if you think this is an issue.
I don't know this code much, so please be careful reviewing. I'm happy to add more test cases I may have missed to the test plan :).
Nick Lockwood 002024cc45 Removed hard-coded DatePicker width
Summary: The DatePicker had a hard-coded width of 320 for no reason I can think of. Removing it allows the DatePicker to naturally scale to fit the width of the container, which is how the regular Picker works already.
Nick Lockwood bdcdfb03d4 Fixed "Sending `didSendNetworkData` with no listeners registered" warning
Summary:
XMLHttpRequest was sending the request before registering any listeners, resulting in a warning from the native event emitter.
Since we weren't seeing widespread problems with XHR missing data, this was probably working OK in practice because the queuing of events meant that the listener would have been registered before the message was actually delivered.
Still, this was working more through luck than design. This diff fixes it by registering the listeners *before* sending the request.
Adam Comella 486dbe4e8f iOS: Enable views to be nested within <Text>
Summary:
Previously, only Text and Image could be nested within Text. Now, any
view can be nested within Text. One restriction of this feature is
that developers must give inline views a width and a height via
the style prop.
Previously, inline Images were supported by using iOS's built-in support
for rendering images with an NSAttributedString via NSTextAttachment.
However, NSAttributedString doesn't support rendering arbitrary views.
This change adds support for nesting views within Text by creating one
NSTextAttachment per inline view. The NSTextAttachments act as placeholders.
They are set to be the size of the corresponding view. After the text is
laid out, we query the text system to find out where it has positioned each
NSTextAttachment. We then position the views to be at those locations.
This commit also contains a change in `RCTShadowText.m`
`_setParagraphStyleOnAttributedString:heightOfTallestSubview:`. It now only sets
`lineHeight`, `textAlign`, and `writingDirection` when they've actua
