Wraps the parts of the branch protection API that allows the user to require signed commits on a branch. New methods are : * Branch.get_required_signatures : returns true if signed commits are required * Branch.add_required_signatures : adds the requirements for signed commits on a branch * Branch.remove_required_signatures : removes the requirement for signed commits on a branch It uses the API provided on this page : https://developer.github.com/v3/repos/branches/ Since this feature is in [preview](https://developer.github.com/changes/2018-02-22-protected-branches-required-signatures/) I pass the 'Accept application/vnd.github.zzzax-preview+json' header to each request.
PyGitHub
PyGitHub is a Python (2 and 3) library to access the GitHub API v3 and Github Enterprise API v3. This library enables you to manage GitHub resources such as repositories, user profiles, and organizations in your Python applications.
Install
$ pip install PyGithub
Simple Demo
from github import Github
# First create a Github instance:
# using username and password
g = Github("user", "password")
# or using an access token
g = Github("access_token")
# Github Enterprise with custom hostname
g = Github(base_url="https://{hostname}/api/v3", login_or_token="access_token")
# Then play with your Github objects:
for repo in g.get_user().get_repos():
print(repo.name)
