With the help of build flags this commit we sleep for 0.7 seconds before we make calls to the following status-go functions that crash on intel MacOS.
- `keycard_go.keycardInitFlow`
- `keycard_go.keycardCancelFlow`
- `status_go.initializeApplication`
As per my investigations this crash happens due to a race condition and was not consistently reproducible. Sometimes it would happen and other times it would not.
I know for sure it used to happen in these places and adding a tiny sleep before calling them made sure that the crashes weren't reproducible for me.
I think a 2.1 second delay during onboarding would be acceptable vs the existing condition of the desktop app straight up crashing.
- introduce `ENABLE_FLEET_SELECTION` desktop config entry to control the
Fleet selection UI availability
- UI can be enabled with envvar `STATUS_RUNTIME_ENABLE_FLEET_SELECTION=1`
Fixes#13848
Implement Controller to forward requests between status-go and SDK
implementation in QML.
Other changes:
- Source Wallet Connect projectId from env vars
- Mock controller in storybook
Updates #12551
- Necessary env variables to build the app:
STATUS_BUILD_INFURA_TOKEN
STATUS_BUILD_INFURA_TOKEN_SECRET
STATUS_BUILD_POKT_TOKEN
STATUS_BUILD_OPENSEA_API_KEY
STATUS_BUILD_ALCHEMY_ETHEREUM_MAINNET_TOKEN
STATUS_BUILD_ALCHEMY_ETHEREUM_GOERLI_TOKEN
STATUS_BUILD_ALCHEMY_ARBITRUM_MAINNET_TOKEN
STATUS_BUILD_ALCHEMY_ARBITRUM_GOERLI_TOKEN
STATUS_BUILD_ALCHEMY_OPTIMISM_MAINNET_TOKEN
STATUS_BUILD_ALCHEMY_OPTIMISM_GOERLI_TOKEN
- The list of available env variables as well as CL arguments can be seen running
the app providing `--help` argument. All env vars are prefixed with `STATUS_RUNTIME_`.
Env vars were read correctly and evaluated during the runtime, but then
assigned to a const evaluated during the compile time and that const was
used in the code, leading to ignoring a real env value.
Because the environment variable name is far too generic and barely
means anything. It needs to clearly indicate that it's supposed to be
used at runtime and it changes how the Status app behaves.

- Settings/About now displays the `status-go` version, read from its
`VERSION` file
- use the actual app icon, to differentiate between prod/dev version
- make the version numbers clickable, taking the user to either the
release notes (prod) or the GH commit browser (dev)
- add "Is production" switch to the About page in storybook
Closes#11424
For these source/dev builds:
- display "git master SHA" as the version number
- disable the "Check for updates" button
- use APP_VERSION in nim
Rationale: instead of updating git master VERSION text file manually each
time an official version is released, we will now mark source/dev builds
with the corresponding git commit hash and display that in the
Settings/About section
Fixes#9210
Adds the `TEST_ENVIRONMENT` that stops banners from showing and touch id to be activated (needs to be tested by someone on Mac).
Also improves the waiting time on verifying screens. Will undo that change if it becomes flaky.
To make sure your local tests still work well and hide the banner as well, make sure to put `TEST_ENVIRONMENT=1` in the suite settings' env vars
A custom `IS_MACOS` constant introduced which represents os defined
macosx, cause for devs working on macos is easier to change a single constant
in a single place to simulate some how the app would behave in some cases on
other platforms.
For example if the dev is working on macos, it's not possible to simulate linux only or
win only features that way, but it's definitely possible to check if mac only features are
not visible on other platforms.
Keycard implementation affected onboarding/login flows.
- new user - first run - new keys into keycard
- new user - first run - import seed phrase into keycard
- old user - first run - login importing from keycard
- login the app using keycard
