Yes, it's FB, but some good if obvious points re: localization.</div></div></div><br/>

Now all we need is a test language to take Lokalise for a spin, and I was thinking either Korean as we have @jinho here who already helped on the Play translation, or Russian since we have several speakers here at Status.

Translations by community members cause more of a headache than you would imagine (more QA than actually translating the text). - Pay for translations (this is built into localize and is cheap and 1 click). Super fast and decent quality. No cat herding.

I'd translate new copies that are merged to develop on a weekly basis unless it is really time consuming. To have all copies translated every week we would need to start translating right after a new release branch was cut. This would give us ~3 days to get the translations and include them in the release.
I?m not sure if we can rely on our community (<a href="https://status-im.slack.com/archives/CCE4AFZ2B/p1536830432000100">https://status-im.slack.com/archives/CCE4AFZ2B/p1536830432000100</a>) so maybe it's best to pay for translations until we find dedicated community members that would be committed to help us.</div></div></div><br/>

I think with the advocacy program this could very well be a task for our ambassadors, which we would incentivise them to do via the platform, I'm in agreement of the suggestion of getting the community to contribute first and find the correct mechanism for QA.</div></div></div><br/>

This is where OSS is great and people can report bugs and fix it organically. It is a fairly simply task and is a great ramp up to other contributions. We think we have a good base to handle Farsi, Korean, Spanish, Chinese, Russian, French, Portuguese, Australian :joy:. While we'd like to continue to grow this list of additional supported languages this does take time as we need to ensure we're identifying the right candidates within the community. We've already identified a community member who we could task with German translations and we will be on the lookout for additional community members as they begin to emerge but this is something that will take time and sometimes will need to happen more organically. What would be useful is to conduct a prioritisation exercise so we can determine what are the languages with the biggest opportunities that we should be targeting for. In lew of GA do we want to go off of mentions of branded (ie Status keywords) or Generic (ie Ethereum keywords) in social and identify top priorities outside of these current languages (listed above) and we can do call outs in our community for any members who are from those regions.

And, for this particular case I think we should actually have to keys. One for send transaction screen with ?Send transaction? copy instead of ?Send transaction ? which may not be aligned correctly because of the space. But I do think we should have es_419 as the main ES translation option for our users since this terminology is more used around the world.

I have seen in other applications that the i18n works like this:
if you only have these two files

Someone that has the language set to Argentina Spanish will load the second file, but someone from, say, Costa Rica, since there is no localization for that Country, the app will use the generic spanish one.</div></div></div><br/>

In Status we have some default public channels for other languages, like `status ???`, but these don't work with universal links. The easy fix is to rename the channels with a-z letters instead of the unicode characters.
