Summary:
As of v1.4.0, a new devtools hook is used that is hosted within `relay-devtools` instead of `relay-runtime`. That allows debugging of production relay apps, and reduces byte size of Relay.

As a result, relay-debugger-react-native-runtime and RelayDebugger can be removed.

Adam Miskiewicz 26133beda9 Add closed-form damped harmonic oscillator algorithm to Animated.spring
Summary:
As I was working on mimicking iOS animations for my ongoing work with `react-navigation`, one task I had was to match the "push from right" animation that is common in UINavigationController.

I was able to grab the exact animation values for this animation with some LLDB magic, and found that the screen is animated using a `CASpringAnimation` with the parameters:

- stiffness: 1000
- damping: 500
- mass: 3

After spending a considerable amount of time attempting to replicate the spring created with these values by CASpringAnimation by specifying values for tension and friction in the current `Animated.spring` implementation, I was unable to come up with mathematically equivalent values that could replicate the spring _exactly_.

After doing some research, I ended up disassembling the QuartzCore framework, reading the assembly, and determined that Apple's implementation of `CASpringAnimation` does not use an integrated, numerical animation model as we do in Animated.spring, but instead solved for the closed form of the equations that govern damped harmonic oscillation (the differential equations themselves are [here](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harmonic_oscillator#Damped_harmonic_oscillator), and a paper describing the math to arrive at the closed-form solution to the second-order ODE that describes the DHO is [here](http://planetmath.org/sites/default/files/texpdf/39745.pdf)).

Though we can get the currently implemented RK4 integration close by tweaking some values, it is, the current model is at it's core, an approximation. It seemed that if I wanted to implement the `CASpringAnimation` behavior _exactly_, I needed to implement the analytical model (as is implemented in `CASpringAnimation`) in `Animated`.

We add three new optional parameters to `Animated.spring` (to both the JS and native implementations):

- `stiffness`, a value describing the spring's stiffness coefficient
- `damping`, a value defining how the spring's motion should be damped due to the forces of friction (technically called the _viscous damping coefficient_).
- `mass`, a value describing the mass of the object attached to the end of the simulated spring

Just like if a developer were to specify `bounciness`/`speed` and `tension`/`friction` in the same config, specifying any of these new parameters while also specifying the aforementioned config values will cause an error to be thrown.

~Defaults for `Animated.spring` across all three implementations (JS/iOS/Android) stay the same, so this is intended to be *a non-breaking change*.~

~If `stiffness`, `damping`, or `mass` are provided in the config, we switch to animating the spring with the new damped harmonic oscillator model (`DHO` as described in the code).~

We replace the old RK4 integration implementation with our new analytic implementation. Tension/friction nicely correspond directly to stiffness/damping with the mass of the spring locked at 1. This is intended to be *a non-breaking change*, but there may be very slight differences in people's springs (maybe not even noticeable to the naked eye), given the fact that this implementation is more accurate.

The DHO animation algorithm will calculate the _position_ of the spring at time _t_ explicitly and in an analytical fashion, and use this calculation to update the animation's value. It will also analytically calculate the velocity at time _t_, so as to allow animated value tracking to continue to work as expected.

Also, docs have been updated to cover the new configuration options (and also I added docs for Animated configuration options that were missing, such as `restDisplacementThreshold`, etc).

Run tests. Run "Animated Gratuitous App" and "NativeAnimation" example in RNTester.

Christian Brevik f426a83d1b Add props for overriding native component
Summary:
Opening a new PR for #10946 (see discussion there).

This PR builds upon #14775 (iOS ViewManager inheritance) and #14261 (more extensible Android WebView).

**Motivation**
When `WebView.android.js` and `WebView.ios.js` use `requireNativeComponent`, they are hard-coded to require `RCTWebView`. This means if you want to re-use the same JS-logic, but require a custom native WebView-implementation, you have to duplicate the entire JS-code files.

The same is true if you want to pass through any custom events or props, which you want to set on the custom native `WebView`.

What I'm trying to solve with this PR is to able to extend native WebView logic, and being able to re-use and extend existing WebView JS-logic.

This is done by adding a new `nativeConfig` prop on WebView. I've also moved the extra `requireNativeComponent` config to `WebView.extraNativeComponentConfig` for easier re-use.

**Test plan**
jacobp100 has been kind enough to help me with docs for this new feature. So that is part of the PR and can be read for some information.

I've also created an example app which demonstrates how to use this functionality: https://github.com/cbrevik/webview-native-config-example

If you've implemented the native side as in the example repo above, it should be fairly easy to use from JavaScript like this:
```javascript
import React, { Component, PropTypes } from 'react';
import { WebView, requireNativeComponent, NativeModules } from 'react-native';
const { CustomWebViewManager } = NativeModules;
export default class CustomWebView extends Component {
  static propTypes = {
    ...WebView.propTypes,
    finalUrl: PropTypes.string,
    onNavigationCompleted: PropTypes.func,
  };
  _onNavigationCompleted = (event) => {
    const { onNavigationCompleted } = this.props;
    onNavigationCompleted && onNavigationCompleted(event);
  }
  render() {
    return (
      <WebView
        {...this.props}
        nativeConfig={{
          component: RCTCustomWebView,
          props: {
            finalUrl: this.props.finalUrl,
            onNavigationCompleted: this._onNavigationCompleted,
          },
          viewManager: CustomWebViewManager
        }}
      />
    );
  }
}
const RCTCustomWebView = requireNativeComponent(
  'RCTCustomWebView',
  CustomWebView,
  WebView.extraNativeComponentConfig
);
```

As you see, you require the custom native implementation at the bottom, and send in that along with any custom props with the `nativeConfig` prop on the `WebView`. You also send in the `viewManager` since iOS requires that for `startLoadWithResult`.

**Discussion**
As noted in the original PR, this could in principle be done with more React Native components, to make it easier for the community to re-use and extend native components.

Ben Roth 7fab093fc8 Fix crash when trying to load photo library assets with nil image url
Summary:
This avoids a crash when we try to load a PHAsset with nil image url. Specifically, the following condition evaluates to true when `imageURL` is nil:

```objc
if ([imageURL.scheme caseInsensitiveCompare:@"assets-library"] == NSOrderedSame) {
    assetID = [imageURL absoluteString];
    results = [PHAsset fetchAssetsWithALAssetURLs:@[imageURL] options:nil];
}
```

The crash will be "attempt to insert nil object from objects[0]" when we build the `@[imageURL]` array literal.

We've seen this emerge as a very common crash among Expo users, so I wanted to at least provide a clear error message instead of terminating the app.

Joshua Alvarado 915a020fca Proper support of the accessibilityLabel for <Text> components on iOS
Summary:
**PR changes**
The RCTText class originally overrode the accessibilityLabel and returned the raw text of the class ignoring if the accessibilityLabel was set explicitly in code.
Example:
  <Text accessibilityLabel="Example"> Hello World </Text> // returns "Hello World" instead of "Example" for the accessibility label

My update checks if the super's accessibilityLabel is not nil and returns the value else it returns the raw text itself as a default to mirror what a UIKit's UILabel does. The super's accessibilityLabel is nil if the accessibilityLabel is not ever set in code. I don't check the length of the label because if the value was set to an empty purposely then it will respect that and return whatever was set in code.
With the new changes:
  <Text accessibilityLabel="Example"> Hello World </Text> // returns "Example" for the accessibilityLabel

This change doesn't support nested <Text> components with both accessibilityLabel's value set respectively. The parent's value will return.
Example:

  // returns "Example" instead of "Example Test" for the accessibility label
  <Text accessibilityLabel="Example">
    Hello
    <Text accessibilityLabel="Test">
      World
    </Text>
  </Text>

The workaround is just to set the only the parent view's accessibilityLabel with the label desired for it and all its nested views or just not nest the views if possible.
I believe a bigger change would be needed to support accessibility for nested views, for now the changes I have made should satisfy the requirements.

There's a positioning bug in `VirtualizedList` when `ItemSeparatorComponent` is defined for a list in horizontal or inverted mode. And also we face this bug in `FlatList`, because it is using `VirtualizedList` to render lists.
This commit will fix the [#15777](https://github.com/facebook/react-native/issues/15777).

Before fix:
```
<FlatList
  ...
  horizontal={true}
  inverted={true}
  ...
/>
```

I ran this code with all possible values of `horizontal` and `inverted` props in `FlatList` and `VirtualizedList` and the results of each run was as below:
After fix bug:

```
<FlatList
  inverted={false}
Martin Yrjölä 25639176ff Asset basenames in Jest snapshots
Summary:
This change only affects tests run with Jest. `require('/images/image1.png')` will be replaced with
```
Object {
  "testUri": "relative/path/to/images/image1.png",
}
```
in the Jest snapshot instead of always being 1 returned by RelativeImageStub. This change makes it possible to test conditional asset loading in components.
The problem with this change is that it will probably break a lot of existing snapshots, but that should be easily fixed when a project updates to a new version of React Native by running `jest -u` to update all snapshots.
A component can have conditional asset loading based on its props, this logic would be nice to test with Jest snapshots. This problem has been discussed in https://github.com/facebook/jest/issues/2838.
* **Who does this affect**: Everyone using `Image` in Jest snapshots
* **How to migrate**: Running `jest -u` will update the snapshots, the snapshots should be reviewed that they are correct.
* **Why make this breaking change**: It enables testing of conditional asset loading.
* **Severity (number of people affected x effort)**: Low.
Adam Comella 6b7f10d43e iOS: Geolocation: Allow skipping of permission prompts
Summary:
This change enables developers to tell the Geolocation module to skip its permissions requests so the app can manage the permissions requests on its own. React Native Android's Geolocation module already requires apps to request permissions on their own.
Currently, the Geolocation module automatically makes permissions requests for you based on what you've specified in your property list file. However, the property list file doesn't always represent what permissions the app wants right now. For example, suppose an app sometimes wants location when "in use" and sometimes wants location "always" depending on what app features the user has engaged with. The Geolocation API will request the "always" location permission even if that's not what the app wants for the current scenario.
This change enables developers to tell the Geolocation module to skip permission requests so that the app can explicitly ask for the appropriate permissions. By default, Geolocation will still ask for permissions so this is not a breaking change.
This change adds a method to Geolocation that is not supported by the web spec for geolocation (`setRNConfiguration`). This method includes `RN` in the name to minimize the chances that the web spec will introduce an API with the same name.
**Test plan (required)**
Verified that Geolocation requests permissions by default and when `skipPermissionRequests` is `false`. Verified the permission requests are skipped when `skipPermissionRequests` is `true`. Also, my team is using this change in our app.
Janic Duplessis 5590b1b5ad Split up AnimatedImplementation.js
Summary:
AnimatedImplementation.js is getting pretty hard to navigate and reason about so I split it up into different modules. Also took the opportunity to run prettier on that code and do some minor const/let refactorings. This doesn't change any logic, mostly just moves code around and add proper imports / exports.
This opens the door for further cleanup and flow type improvements but want to keep this already big PR as small as possible.
Discussion points:
- Should I use haste for this? Animated is pretty much a standalone module, it still uses a few haste imports but for new modules I used commonjs imports to avoid polluting the haste global namespace too much. The new modules are all internal to Animated and should not be imported externally.
- We're using `requestAnimationFrame` from fbjs instead of the one available globally in RN and browsers is there a reason for that?
- Should we even support web in this implementation? There is a standalone repo that exist for Animated web. Is this implementation of Animated web used internally at facebook?
- Probably still related to web, we used some weird Set polyfill is that still needed?
Notes:
There is a small regression for docs where the type of some classes that are exported like AnimatedValue show up as CallExpression instead if Class.
Eric Rozell 809f1e97de Avoid race condition for AppState.currentState
Summary:
When the AppState module is initialized, it subscribes to the `appStateDidChange` event and sends an async native method call to the AppState native module. There is a small race condition window where the native module can read the current app state as `uninitialized` before calling the JavaScript callback, and then be interrupted by the underlying mechanism to trigger the `appStateDidChange` event. If the `appStateDidChange` event is processed before the JavaScript callback, the resulting value of `AppState.currentState` will be invalid.
Fixes Microsoft/react-native-windows#1300
(Write your test plan here. If you changed any code, please provide us with clear instructions on how you verified your changes work. Bonus points for screenshots and videos!)
I simulated (over-exaggerated) the race condition by injecting "thread sleep" calls in the native method call and the native mechanism for updating the app state.
I then ran the AppStateExample in the RNTester and found that the current app state was set to `uninitialized`, as opposed to the expected value of `active`.
Once I made this JavaScript change, the over-exaggerated race condition no longer resulted in an invalid app state.
DracoBlue f95153ed52 Loading-State when reloading Android WebView
Summary:
This commit enables state WebViewState before triggering reload on WebView. This will (if defined) trigger the loading screen again.
On iOS the LoadingIndicator will be called whenever you reload the WebView. On Android this feature is missing (see #11013). This PR adds this behaviour.
Important: One might think that "onLoadStart" is the right area to add this code, but on Android onLoadStart will also trigger for sub-resources -> the loading screen will also appear when loading iframes on the same page. I expect thats why this was not added in first place.
Summary:
**Motivation**
On Apple TV, pressing the menu button destroys the native view that backs the `Modal` component, causing an app using this component to get into a broken state.  This fix implements `onRequestClose` for tvOS to have the same behavior as it does for the Android back button.
Manually tested this with the `ModalExample` in the `RNTester` app.  See also the test code in issue #15313.
Kevin Gozali 40a2885847 android: allow whitelisting urls to bypass default webview loading
Summary:
This is a workaround for missing PDF url support in Android WebView, which is a general known issue: when tapping a PDF url within WebView, instead of doing nothing, we just let android default intent handle it (e.g. it will open Chrome to load it).
This is basically to trick `shouldOverrideUrlLoading()` to return true for the specific url. The drawback is that product code needs to provide the whitelist.
The proper fix would be to use PdfRenderer in that method, but it seems like it's only for API >= 21...
Rob Hogan cd9d6e34fd WebSocket API change to make room for other connection options (SSL pinning)
Summary:
This is a simple groundwork PR to allow options to be passed to the `WebSocket` constructor. It represents a minor change to an undocumented part of the API, moving `headers` to within `options`.
This will be a BC for anyone manually specifying headers other than `origin` but a) that's not a common use case with WebSockets and b) it's not documented even in code and wouldn't currently pass a flow check.
NB: The third argument to the WebSocket constructor isn't part of the W3C spec, so I think this is a good place for RN-specific named parameters, better than adding a fourth argument. `protocols` needs to stay where it is, in line with the spec.
If this goes through I'd like to build on it by adding an additional connection option for SSL certificate pinning, as already supported by the underlying `okhttp` and `RCTSRWebSocket`. It could later be expanded for various other uses.
Currently, there's no way for a `WebSocket` user to specify any connection options other than url, protocol and headers. The fact that `WebSocket` connects in its constructor means any options have to go in there.
Connect to a websocket server using iOS and Android, observe the connection headers:
1. Without specifying `origin`, the default header should be set
2. Specifying it in the old way `new WebSocket(url, protocols, { origin: 'customorigin.com' })`
3. Specifying it in the new way `new WebSocket(url, protocols, { headers: { origin: 'customorigin.com' }})`.
I've tested myself using the test app with iOS and Android.
Danil Gontovnik d565bc3e3f Fix TextInput numeric keyboard submit
Summary:
When you have a numeric non-multiline `TextInput` and a `returnKeyType` is `done` we automatically add an input accessory view ([implementation](603cc48ceb/Libraries/Text/RCTTextInput.m (L269)#L315)).
That view has a done button which triggers [handleInputAccessoryDoneButton](603cc48ceb/Libraries/Text/RCTTextInput.m (L317...L320)) which currently directly sends `endEditing:` to the text field / text view. As a consequence, the [textInputShouldReturn](603cc48ceb/Libraries/Text/RCTTextInput.m (L118...L121)) is not called and we dismiss the keyboard even if the `blurOnSubmit` value is `false`.
Confirm that the keyboard is not dismissed when you tap on Done button on this `TextInput`:
```
<TextInput
  keyboardType={'numeric'}
  returnKeyType={'done'}
  blurOnSubmit={false}
/>
```
and that the keyboard is dismissed for this `TextInput`:
```
<TextInput
  keyboardType={'numeric'}
  returnKeyType={'done'}
  blurOnSubmit
/>
```
James Reggio 8d757e5ad7 Export `Animated.Node` for ease of type checking
Summary:
At present, there's no uniform way of determining whether you've received an Animated value node which can be attached to an animated prop.
You can attempt to use `instanceof Animated.Value`, but this fails for interpolated values. You can use `instanceof Animated.Interpolation`, but this fails for the values that are returned from the math functions (e.g., `Animated.Add`).
This commit exposes the base type from which all of these value nodes derive. As such, it is now possible to do the following:
```js
import React, { Component, PropTypes } from 'react';
import { Animated } from 'react-native';

class Widget extends Component {
  static propTypes = {
    progress: PropTypes.instanceOf(Animated.Node).isRequired,
  }
  // ...
}
```
Unnecessary for cosmetic change.
Summary:
Currently, since the alertTitle is not set in UILocalNotification, the notification displays just the notification body with no title. This commit sets the alertTitle for local notifications.
Issue: #14699
- In a sample RN app, created a component and added the following code to componentDidMount():
`PushNotificationIOS.scheduleLocalNotification({
     fireDate: new Date(Date.now() + (30 * 1000)).toISOString(),
     alertTitle: 'Incoming Message',
     alertBody: 'Test message',
 })`
- On running the app, the notification appears with both body and title once the component is mounted.
Adam Miskiewicz 1954438533 Add 'contentInsetAdjustmentBehavior' (new in iOS 11) to ScrollView
Summary:
In iOS11, Apple added a new layout feature called "Safe Areas" (this blog post talks a bit about it: https://www.bignerdranch.com/blog/wwdc-2017-large-titles-and-safe-area-layout-guides/).
UIScrollView is one component that is affected by this change in Apple's API. When the `contentInsetAdjustmentBehavior` is set to `automatic`, for example, it will adjust the insets (and override any manually set insets) automatically based on whether or not there's a UINavigationBar, a UITabBar, a visible status bar, etc on the screen. Frustratingly, Apple decided to default to `Automatic` for this behavior, which will cause any apps that set contentInset/contentContainerStyle padding to have their values offset by, at the very least, the size of the status bar, when they compile their app for iOS 11. Here's more information about this behavior: https://developer.apple.com/documentation/uikit/uiscrollview/2902261-contentinsetadjustmentbehavior?language=objc
Mostly, this is a really straightforward change -- it simply adds a new iOS-only prop to ScrollView that allows setting `contentInsetAdjustmentBehavior`. But I did decide to default the behavior to `never`, so that it mimics the behavior we've seen in iOS < 11. I think it's good to keep something as crucial as scrollview content insets non-magical, and also keep it behaving similarly between platforms.
Philipp von Weitershausen ed903099b4 Add blob implementation with WebSocket integration
Summary:
This is the first PR from a series of PRs grabbou and me will make to add blob support to React Native. The next PR will include blob support for XMLHttpRequest.
I'd like to get this merged with minimal changes to preserve the attribution. My next PR can contain bigger changes.
Blobs are used to transfer binary data between server and client. Currently React Native lacks a way to deal with binary data. The only thing that comes close is uploading files through a URI.
Current workarounds to transfer binary data includes encoding and decoding them to base64 and and transferring them as string, which is not ideal, since it increases the payload size and the whole payload needs to be sent via the bridge every time changes are made.
The PR adds a way to deal with blobs via a new native module. The blob is constructed on the native side and the data never needs to pass through the bridge. Currently the only way to create a blob is to receive a blob from the server via websocket.
The PR is largely a direct port of https://github.com/silklabs/silk/tree/master/react-native-blobs by philikon into RN (with changes to integrate with RN), and attributed as such.
> **Note:** This is a breaking change for all people running iOS without CocoaPods. You will have to manually add `RCTBlob.xcodeproj` to your `Libraries` and then, add it to Build Phases. Just follow the process of manual linking. We'll also need to document this process in the release notes.
Related discussion - https://github.com/facebook/react-native/issues/11103
- `Image` can't show image when `URL.createObjectURL` is used with large images on Android
The websocket integration can be tested via a simple server,
```js
const fs = require('fs');
const http = require('http');

const WebSocketServer = require('ws').Server;

const wss = new WebSocketServer({
  server: http.createServer().listen(7232),
});

wss.on('connection', (ws) => {
  ws.on('message', (d) => {
    console.log(d);
  });

  ws.send(fs.readFileSync('./some-file'));
});
```
Then on the client,
```js
var ws = new WebSocket('ws://localhost:7232');

ws.binaryType = 'blob';

ws.onerror = (error) => {
  console.error(error);
};

ws.onmessage = (e) => {
  console.log(e.data);
  ws.send(e.data);
};
```
Adam Comella fc38fe1736 DEPRECATION: Make NetInfo API cross platform and expose whether connection is 2g/3g/4g
Summary:
This change intends to fix 2 issues with the NetInfo API:
  - The NetInfo API is currently platform-specific. It returns completely different values on iOS and Android.
  - The NetInfo API currently doesn't expose a way to determine whether the connection is 2g, 3g, or 4g.
The NetInfo API currently just exposes a string-based enum representing the connectivity type. The string values are different between iOS and Andorid. Because of this design, it's not obvious how to achieve the goals of this change without making a breaking change. Consequently, this change deprecates the old NetInfo APIs and introduces new ones. Specifically, these are the API changes:
  - The `fetch` method is deprecated in favor of `getConnection`
  - The `change` event is deprecated in favor of the `connectionchange` event.
  - `getConnection`/`connectionchange` use a new set of enum values compared to `fetch`/`change`. See the documentation for the new values.
    - On iOS, `cell` is now known as `cellular`. It's worth pointing out this one in particular because the old and new names are so similar. The rest of the iOS values have remained the same.
    - Some of the Android enum values have been removed without a replacement (e.g. `DUMMY`, `MOBILE_DUN`, `MOBILE_HIPRI`, `MOBILE_MMS`, `MOBILE_SUPL`, `VPN`). If desirable, we could find a way to expose these in the new API. For example, we could have a `platformValue` key that exposes the platform's enum values directly (like the old `fetch` API did).
`getConnection` and `connectionchange` each expose an object which has 2 keys conveying a `ConnectionType` (e.g. wifi, cellular) and an `EffectiveConnectionType` (e.g. 2g, 3g). These enums and their values are taken directly from the W3C's Network Information API spec (https://wicg.github.io/netinfo/). Copying the W3C's API will make it easy to expose a `navigation.connection` polyfill, if we want, in the future. Additionally, because the new APIs expose an object instead of a string, it's easier to extend the APIs in the future by adding keys to the object without causing a breaking change.
Note that the W3C's spec doesn't have an "unknown" value for `EffectiveConnectionType`. I chose to introduce this non-standard value because it's possible for the current implementation to not have an `effectiveConnectionType` and I figured it was worth representing this possibility explicitly with "unknown" instead of implicitly with `null`.
**Test Plan (required)**
Verified that the methods (`fetch` and `getConnection`) and the events (`change` and `connectionchange`) return the correct data on iOS and Android when connected to a wifi network and a 4G cellular network. Verified that switching networks causes the event to fire with the correct information. Verified that the old APIs (`fetch' and 'change') emit a deprecation warning when used. My team is using a similar patch in our app.
Eric Rozell 59105f6b1e Adds hook for platform-specific View props
Summary:
Platforms that plug in to react-native may require additional props that are specific to those platforms. For example, already in react-native there are props that are specific to Android (`accessibilityComponentType`, `needsOffscreenAlphaCompositing`, etc.), props that are specific to iOS (`accessibilityTraits`, `shouldRasterizeIOS`, etc.) and props that are specific to tvOS (`isTVSelectable`, `tvParallaxProperties`, etc.).
I need to add properties to `react-native-windows`, and I'd prefer not to override the entire `ViewPropTypes` file as it is a risk that things in react-native-windows fall out of sync with react-native.
Jason Gaare f7043699b0 Use Apple's significant-change API (for iOS 11 UX)
Summary:
In the yet-to-be-released iOS 11, Apple has changed the way they notify the user of location services. (You can watch their session from WWDC about all the changes [here](https://developer.apple.com/videos/play/wwdc2017/713/).)
The current implementation of `RCTLocationObserver` uses the standard location services from Apple. When the user has granted `Always` location permission and the application uses the background location service, the user is presented with the *_Blue Bar of Shame_* (for more information check out [this blog post](https://blog.set.gl/ios-11-location-permissions-and-avoiding-the-blue-bar-of-shame-1cee6cd93bbe)):
![image](https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/15896334/28285133-281e425c-6af9-11e7-9177-61b879ab593c.png)
* Added `useSignificantChanges` boolean to the options passed.
* Added `_usingSignificantChanges` boolean based on user options. If `true`, then the CLLocationManager will use functions `startMonitoringSignificantLocationChanges`/ `stopMonitoringSignificantLocationChanges` rather than the standard location services.
* Changed method signature of `beginLocationUpdatesWithDesiredAccuracy` to include `useSignificantChanges` flag
* Added check for new `NSLocationAlwaysAndWhenInUseUsageDescription`
All unit tests passed.
Tested in simulator and on device, toggling `useSignificantChanges` option when calling `watchPosition`. Results were as expected. **When `TRUE`, the _Blue Bar of Shame_ was not present.**
Changes do not affect Android and location services still work as expected on Android.
* Change is for iOS only
* Using a different API will have different accuracy results. Adding `useSignificantChanges` as an option was by design so apps that want to have most accurate and most frequent update can still use standard location services.
Garrett McCullough 8117fa16c9 Improve the documentation for ListView and ListViewDataSource
Summary:
What existing problem does the pull request solve?
My motivation was to improve the documentation for ListView and ListViewDataSource because I always have trouble remembering how they work and the documentation was lacking an example for `cloneWithRowsAndSections`
My PR does the following:
* add a note about how headers and footers are rendered on a horizontal ListView
* fix a typo in an example
* clarify that the sectionIdentities should match the keys or array indexes of the data source
* add an example of cloneWithRowsAndSections
* add notes on the return values of `getRowCount` and `getRowAndSectionCount`
Krzysztof Magiera b8fafb46c1 Stop native driver animations when value is set.
Summary:
This diff changes the behaviour of natively driven animations in case the node that they are being run for has its value changed using `setValue` or as a result of an incoming event.
The reason for changing that is to match the JS implementation of `setValue` which behaves as described above (see relevant code here: 7cdd4d48c8/Libraries/Animated/src/AnimatedImplementation.js (L743))
**Test Plan:**
Use this sample app: https://snack.expo.io/B1V7RX9r-
Change: `USE_NATIVE_DRIVER` const between `true` and `false`.
See the animation stops regardless of the state of `USE_NATIVE_DRIVER` unlike before when it would stop only when `USE_NATIVE_DRIVER` was set to `false`
Shir Levkowitz ced1513b62 Pass actual loaded image size to load (iOS).
Summary:
Motivation: The JavaScript image component's onLoad callback optionally
accepts dimensions width and height, allowing the parent of the image to
obtain the native size (without an extra bridge call). It was found that
the dimensions passed into this callback on iOS are frequently (0,0),
not the true native dimensions. This change ensures that the image's
dimensions are passed to the callback. (Examination of the initializer
for RCTImageSource, + (RCTImageSource *)RCTImageSource:(id)json,
indicates that not all code paths produce a size other than CGSizeZero.)
Summary:
Adding a Babel plugin that will analyze the file looking for any potential candidate to use `regenerator-runtime`, and if so, will inject dynamically the module. The module is injected per file, so we avoid polluting the global environment. The plugin is also able to inject the `require` call beforehand, so that the inliner can pick them and inline them.
The Babel plugin is part of `react-native-babel-preset`, so as long as you are using this preset you are safe. If not, you should include the specific transformer into your list of plugins, as `react-native-babel-preset/transforms/transform-regenerator-runtime-insertion.js`.
Summary:
iOS has tendency to skip `textInputDidChange` event (irregulary, across all dispatch ways: target-action, delegate, notification center)
when text input looses focus. Usually it happens when autocorrection applies some changes automatically on loosing focus, but I think these are bunch of different cases.
So, the workaround is pretty simple: if there was no `textInputDidChange` event between `shouldChangeText` and `didEndEditing`, we create it manually.
Previously these workaround complicate our business logic, now they was decoupled in separate adapter.
Valentin Shergin ee9697e515 Introducing `RCTBackedTextInputDelegate`
Summary:
Nothing behavioral changed in this diff; just moving code around.
`RCTBackedTextInputDelegate` is the new protocol which supposed to be common determinator among of UITextFieldDelegate and UITextViewDelegate
(and bunch of events and notifications around UITextInput and UITextView).
We need this reach two goals in the future:
 * Incapsulate UIKit imperfections related hack in dedicated protocol adapter. So, doing this we can fix more UIKit related bugs without touching real RN text handling logic. (Yes, we still have a bunch of bugs, which we cannot fix because it is undoable with the current architecture. This diff does NOT fix anything though.)
 * We can unify logic in RCTTextField and RCTTextView (even more!), moving it to a superclass. If we do so, we can fix another bunch of bugs related to RN imperfections. And have singleline/multiline inputs implementations even more consistent.
Tomas Reimers c694212be3 FlatList doesn't specify that it accepts ScrollView Props
Summary:
ListView does specify this: https://facebook.github.io/react-native/docs/listview.html#props
The link in ListView is generated by the documentation generator, but because the format of FlatList's props is different, it fails to catch it. Consider finding a way to specify this explicitly to the documentation generator (although this would be a bigger change).
