### **49: Running SpiffWorkflow on a Custom Hostname in Docker**
**Q:** How do I change "localhost" to a custom hostname in SpiffWorkflow's Docker setup?
**A:**
By default, the **Docker Compose** setup for SpiffWorkflow (as described in [this guide](https://www.spiffworkflow.org/posts/articles/get_started_docker/)) runs on `localhost`. If you want to access the environment from another machine on the same network, you need to change `localhost` to a custom hostname (e.g., `mycomputer1`).
When attempting to modify `docker-compose.yml` by replacing `localhost` with `mycomputer1`, the setup fails with the following error after running `docker compose down && docker compose up --build`:
```
Server error
```
To successfully change the hostname from `localhost` to a custom name:
1. **Clone the Arena Compose Repository:**
```sh
git clone https://github.com/sartography/arena-compose-postgres
```
2. **Run Docker Compose with the updated hostname:**
```sh
SPIFFWORKFLOW_PROTOCOL=http SPIFFWORKFLOW_HOST=mycomputer1 SPIFFWORKFLOW_PORT=3006 docker compose up
```
This allows SpiffWorkflow to run on `mycomputer1` instead of `localhost`, making it accessible from other machines on the network.
